Beside preparing students for participation in competitions outside the college (such as Youth Festival, inter-college competitions, etc.) they are also encouraged to take part in celebration of important occasions like:-
Annual Prize Distribution Function 2019
The Annual Prize Distribution Function of GDC Bharmour was held at the Bharmour Helipad on 9 April 2019. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Shiv Dayal, Principal of GDC Chamba, and he felicitated the deserving students of GDC Bharmour in the spheres of academics, sports, culture and other activities related to NSS, Eco-Club, etc. The day also witnessed the launch of the college website, www.gcbharmour.com by the mentioned Chief Guest. Throughout the function, the gathered dignitaries, officials and local residents were regaled by cultural performances presented by the students of GDC Bharmour.
On 3 August 2018, as part of Van Mahotsav, the Eco Club and NSS unit of GC Bharmour participated in a plantation drive facilitated by the Forest Department of Bharmour. Guided by the DFO and attendant forest guards, the students and teachers planted around 200 trees near Fanar village by the Budhil river.
On 20 August 2018, GC Bharmour organized SadbhavanaDiwas, marking the 74th birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi. The Principal, Dr. Mohinder Pal addressed the students on the subject of social harmony and administered the following oath:
“I take this solemn pledge that I will work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, region, religion or language. I further pledge that I shall resolve all differences among us through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence.”
Commemorating the 149th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, GC Bharmour celebrated SwachhtaDiwas on 2 October 2018, whereby the students and teachers joined hands to clean the college and its surroundings.

National Unity Day is celebrated each year on the 31st of October to mark the birth anniversary of SardarVallabhbhai Patel, who played a key role in the unification of states after India’s independence from British rule. Marking this occasion in 2018, the Principal of GC Bharmour addressed the students on the subject of ‘Unity in Diversity’, followed by an oath-taking ceremony.
On 8 December 2018, the Red Ribbon Club of GC Bharmour celebrated Anti-Drugs Day in collaboration with the Government Hospital of Bharmour. In order to create awareness regarding the ill effects of various intoxicants, the students participated in several competitions such as declamation, essay writing, poster-making and slogan writing. This was followed by an insightful talk by Dr. Shalini on the physiological, psychological and social effects of substance abuse.
On 26 December 2018, representatives of PRAGYA NGO conducted a short seminar for the students of GC Bharmour on the subject of gender sensitization. Among other things, the students were engaged in discussions related to gender, identity and social inequality.
